1. What are lash extensions?
Lash Extensions are synthetic strands that are made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. Single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
2. How long do lash extensions last?
When applied by a professional, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, usually between 4 and 8 weeks. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 4 weeks
3. How long does it take to have lash extensions applied?
The application process for lash extensions normally takes about 90-120 minutes for a full set of lashes and 45-60 minutes for a refill. You will lay comfortably on a massage table with your eyes closed. Relaxing ambient music is played while the professional technician applies your lash extensions. Your lower lashes will be covered. The extensions will be then applied to your upper lashes one at a time.
4. What is the cost of lash extensions?
Full sets range from $85-$185 depending on the fullness or look you are trying to achieve. Re-fills or touchups are required and usually are done every 2-3 weeks. Two week fills are $50 and a three week fill is $65.
5. How do I care for my lashes?
*Do not get lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours
*Avoid hot steam or sauna
*For longer lasting lashes, limit the use of running water directly on your lashes
*Avoid rubbing your eyes excessively
*Use water based eye makeup remover
*Do not perm your lashes
*Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler
*Do not pull on your lashes
6. Do I need to do anything to prepare, prior to the appointment?
You should thoroughly clean your lashes with a mild cleanser. Do not use oily makeup remover to clean your lashes prior to the application. Lashes should not be curled (unless directed otherwise by your technician) and all mascara should be removed.
7. I wear contacts. Can I still get eyelash extensions?
Yes! Since lash extensions do not touch your skin, they do not conflict or interfere with your contacts or normal daily activities. Some individuals prefer to remove contacts prior to service, though this is optional.
